Kat Dennings was born on 13 June 1986 in Bryn Mawr, Pennsylvania and was given the name Katherine Victoria Litwack. Ellen Dennings who is Kat's maternal grandmother is a professional writer as well as a speech therapy. She has a father named Gerald. Gerald is a professor at a university and molecular biologist. Dennings was raised in a Jewish family, and was the youngest of children. Dennings was homeschooled and only once did she attend a traditional school. As she was acting in her early years and was a natural homeschooler, it worked well for her. When she was 14, she finished high school. At the age of nine, she started to act in commercials. Following her graduation from high school she moved with her family into Los Angeles in order to take on acting. Kat Dennings is the name she used when auditioning. Kat Dennings, who had relocated from LA in 2000, moved to LA in 2000 made her debut on the HBO show called "Sex and the City". Following that, Dennings was a star on the sitcom of WB "Sex and the City".
